Prenatal and Postpartum Support Groups

Join us on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 10:30am - 12:00pm. Group is held at 333 S. Allison Pkwy, Suite 302 in Lakewood (just west of Wadsworth off Alameda).

This support group might be helpful to you if you are:

feeling depressed or anxious;
wondering why your pregnancy was not as enjoyable as you thought it would be
wondering why you are not feeling "in love" with your baby or with being a mother
having trouble sleeping even when the baby sleeps or wanting to sleep all day

experiencing obsessive or intrusive, disturbing thoughts

feeling hopeless
afraid your baby would be better off without you
not feeling joy in your life or feeling flat most of the time

scared to take the baby out of the house for fear of what might happen

wishing you had more support for yourself

Mothering Without a Map Support Group

This is an eight-week theraputic group based on the book Mothering Without a Map by Kathryn Black. Each week, we will discuss individual issues related to assigned readings from the book including topics such as:

Identifying attachment patterns passed down from mother to daughter
The grandmother/mother/baby triangle
Telling our stories, telling our mother's stories
Resiliency and letting go
The support we get to mother
Where I am, where my children are and where we are going
